Ordering CUC Transcripts:

I. WHAT IS A TRANSCRIPT?
A transcript is a certified, official copy of your permanent academic record. Since it contains confidential information, it cannot be released to anyone other than you without written permission unless it is mailed directly to another college or university from the Records Office.
II. HOW MUCH DOES A TRANSCRIPT COST?
Regular processing of transcripts is free. Rush transcripts cost $10, payable in advance by cash, money order or credit card (Visa or MasterCard only). FAXed transcripts are considered RUSH transcripts, and are subject to an additional $5 fee if sent to a long-distance number.
III. HOW DO I ORDER A TRANSCRIPT?

    A. BY MAIL or FAX

You may download a Transcript Request form and mail or FAX the completed form to the Records Office, Columbia Union College, 7600 Flower Ave., Takoma Park, MD 20912-7796. FAX number for the Records Office is 301-891-4121.

If you do not use the Transcript Request Form, you may write a letter of request, and mail or FAX it to the above address. The following information must be included:

  • Your current name, plus any other name(s) you may have used when attending Columbia Union College.
  • Your social security or student ID number.
  • Your date of birth (optional, but useful, especially when dealing with older records, or records where there is more than one person with the same name).
  • Your beginning and ending dates of enrollment at CUC.
  • The number of transcripts you are requesting.
  • Where each transcript requested is to be sent (please provide an accurate and complete address).
  • Your original signature.
  • Your current home address, day-time telephone number, and e-mail address.
  • Indicate if you want transcript held until current semester grades are posted and/or until degree is posted.
Rush and FAX transcript requests require MasterCard/Visa/ card number and expiration date.
    B. BY PHONE or E-MAIL
There is one and only one circumstance where phone or e-mail requests may be honored, and that is if the transcript is to go directly to another college or university.
NO ONE ELSE (including your spouse, parent, etc.) may pick up your transcript without your written permission. (Identify by name the person who is authorized to obtain your transcript and include your original written signature. That person will need to show a photo ID before the transcript will be released to them.)

NOTE: A transcript picked up by OR sent directly to you is stamped "Issued to Student". Some institutions will not accept a transcript that is marked "Issued to Student".

IV. WHAT MAY PREVENT A TRANSCRIPT BEING ISSUED TO ME?

A transcript will not be issued unless:

  • all outstanding obligations to the college are cleared.
  • any student loans you have are current.
  • student loan exit interview has been completed.
  • official final high school and college transcripts have been received.
