GART 120 Introduction to Photography (2)
An introduction to the operation of a camera, composition of a picture, processing
of black-and-white film and prints, and making contact sheets and enlargements.
Camera required. (Fall and Spring Semesters)
GART 140 Introduction to Desktop Publishing for Non-Artists (3)
An introductory course for the individual with no previous computer training.
The student will be exposed to computer technology and various software. Assignments
will include the making of a resume“, business card, and advertisement flyer.
Design principles and typography are utilized in a limited capacity. (Fall and
Spring Semesters)
GART 330 Business Publication and Design (3)
Prerequisite: A grade of at least C in GART 140. This course teaches
design principles and methods for the production of professional print publications.
Conceptual skills are developed by problem-solving through the use of design
systems and typography. Familiarity with industry vocabulary, and the importance
of proposals, estimates, budgets, and vendor relationships is emphasized. (Spring
Semester)
